Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Electrik.NG website and services operated by Softhills Technologies ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part, do not use our services.
Electrik.NG provides an online platform for purchasing prepaid electricity tokens and settling postpaid electricity bills for all twelve electricity Distribution Companies (DISCOs) in Nigeria. Our services include:
We act as an intermediary between you and the licensed electricity vending infrastructure. We do not generate, distribute, or guarantee electricity supply — that responsibility lies with your DISCO.
You may use some features as a guest without creating an account. Guest checkout requires a valid email address and phone number, which are used to create a temporary account and deliver your token. Guest accounts are converted to full accounts when you set a password via the link sent to your email.
Registered account holders must provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@electrik.ng if you suspect unauthorised access.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that all information provided is truthful and that you are the authorised payer for the meter or account number you provide.
Payments are processed by Paystack, a CBN-licensed payment service provider. We do not store your card details. By initiating a payment, you authorise us to instruct Paystack to charge the specified amount.
A service fee is charged per transaction: currently ₦100 for prepaid transactions and ₦150 for postpaid transactions. This fee is displayed clearly before you confirm payment and is non-refundable once a token has been successfully delivered or a bill has been settled.
Token delivery and bill settlement are routed through licensed electricity vending infrastructure. We do not control the DISCO systems or the national grid. We are not liable for:
If a vend response is delayed, our system automatically requeues and retries confirmation. You will be notified of the final status by email and SMS. Do not make a duplicate payment before receiving a final status notification.
The Electrik.NG wallet holds funds you have deposited via Paystack for use in future transactions and scheduled recharges. Wallet balances are denominated in Nigerian Naira (NGN). Wallet funds are:
Scheduled recharges automatically deduct from your wallet balance on the configured date and frequency. You are responsible for maintaining a sufficient wallet balance. If your wallet balance is insufficient at the time a scheduled recharge runs, the schedule will be skipped and marked as failed for that cycle. We will notify you by email. We are not liable for electricity disconnection resulting from a failed scheduled recharge due to insufficient wallet funds.
The SOS Emergency Token is a short-term credit facility that allows eligible customers to purchase electricity against a future repayment. By requesting an SOS token, you agree to:
Overdue SOS loans (unpaid after the configured number of days) will result in suspension of your ability to use the SOS feature and may affect your credit tier. Electrik.NG reserves the right to recover outstanding SOS loan amounts from future wallet credits or transactions.
The Electrik.NG WhatsApp bot allows linked users to purchase electricity by sending commands to our bot number. By linking your WhatsApp account, you agree that:
You may unlink your WhatsApp number at any time from your profile or by sending STOP to our bot number. Unlinking immediately disables bot vending for your account.
You agree not to use Electrik.NG to:
Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate account suspension and referral to relevant authorities.

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Electrik.NG shall not exceed the total service fees paid by you in the three months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of power supply, business losses, or losses arising from DISCO or national grid failures.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Softhills Technologies, its officers, employees, and partners from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your use of the services, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
