1. Who We Are

Electrik.NG is a Nigerian electricity bill payment platform. We provide prepaid token purchase and postpaid bill settlement for all twelve electricity Distribution Companies (DISCOs) in Nigeria through our website and WhatsApp bot.

When you interact with our WhatsApp bot, Meta (WhatsApp's parent company) forwards to us:

We store the full conversation transcript (inbound and outbound messages) for a period of 90 days for fraud prevention, quality assurance, and dispute resolution. See Section 4 for full details.

4. WhatsApp Messaging Service

Meta / WhatsApp Integration — Electrik.NG uses the WhatsApp Business Platform API provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. By linking your WhatsApp number to Electrik.NG, you consent to your messages being processed through Meta's infrastructure in accordance with WhatsApp's Privacy Policy.

You may unlink your WhatsApp number at any time from your account profile or by sending STOP to our bot number. Unlinking does not affect your Electrik.NG account or transaction history. Stored conversation transcripts older than 7 days are deleted within 30 days of unlinking; newer transcripts are deleted within 90 days per our standard retention schedule.

4.5 Messages we send to you

We send WhatsApp messages only for transactional and service purposes: token delivery, payment confirmations, scheduled recharge alerts, SOS loan notifications, and OTP verification. We do not send marketing or promotional messages via WhatsApp without your explicit consent.

All third-party processors are contractually bound to handle your data securely and only for the specific purpose for which it was shared. We do not sell, rent, or broker your personal data to any party for their own commercial purposes.

Electrik.NG is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email or by placing a prominent notice on our website before the change takes effect. Your continued use of Electrik.NG after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
